Hello, dear IEC Student! Welcome to your new language course!

Il tuo livello di partenza è B1/Intermediate. In base allo standard definito all’interno del CEFR, Quadro Comune Europeo di Riferimento per le Lingue (QCER), il completamento di questo livello ti permetterà di utilizzare l’inglese per interagire in modo sempre più articolato con persone di madrelingua inglese, mantenendoti nell’ambito di argomenti familiari e appartenenti al tuo contesto sociale e lavorativo. Sarà necessario superare ancora alcuni livelli per raggiungere un’autonomia completa e una totale padronanza dell’inglese, ma noterai che la tua fluency e la tua indipendenza nell’uso della lingua aumenteranno sensibilmente. Il livello B1 è infatti un vero e proprio “giro di boa” che ti porta da un livello basico a un livello in cui l’uso della lingua diventa velocemente sempre più autonomo, poiché le fondamenta sono ormai gettate e si procede quindi a costruire sempre più rapidamente.

Durante i viaggi sarai in grado di comunicare e interagire nella gran parte delle situazioni che normalmente potresti incontrare. Inoltre, comincerai a formulare concetti sempre più complessi, verbalmente e per iscritto. Sarai in grado di argomentare in modo più completo e articolato le tue opinioni e i tuoi punti di vista e di commentare informazioni e situazioni sapendo esprimere accordo e disaccordo in modo appropriato e con diverse sfumature di significato.

In questo livello cominciano a comparire le funzioni linguistiche più evolute che si rifanno al linguaggio astratto e che si concretizzano in diverse funzioni e competenze che comincerai a sviluppare e che approfondirai e arriverai a padroneggiare pienamente nel successivo livello B2/Upper-Intermediate: speculare sul futuro, esprimere sogni e desideri, soppesare pro e contro di una determinata situazione, negoziare, fare confronti.

QCER B1/Intermediate (Independent User)

Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly
encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise
whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple
connected text on topics, which are familiar, or of personal interest. Can describe
experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and
explanations for opinions and plans.
